A new biodegradable EPS (polystyrene) foam material, suitable for physical protection, cushioning, and thermal insulation packaging in e-commerce cold chain logistics.

Disposable tableware manufactured from biodegradable EPS (expanded polystyrene)—developed by the Canadian company Styrochem—represents a category of biodegradable foamed tableware. The key characteristic distinguishing this type of tableware from traditional foamed EPS products is its biodegradability. Within four years, it achieves a biodegradation rate of 92%, and over a longer period, it can ultimately reach 100%. Possessing this attribute, such foamed tableware offers a perfect solution to the problem of "white pollution."

Furthermore, its production process generates neither water nor air pollution. Regarding subsequent waste disposal, it offers dual options: it can be incinerated like traditional disposable materials, or it can undergo biodegradation. Beyond its utility for everyday dining, this biodegradable foamed tableware is also microwave-safe; it remains cool to the touch after heating and provides effective thermal insulation.
